They include managers, artists, agents and presenters and other special guests.

The BC Touring Council (BCTC), in partnership with the BC Arts Council, presents the fourth On the Road Touring Workshop for emerging performing artists on Thursday, February 2 and Friday, February 3 at the Coast Inn of The North, 770 Brunswick St, Prince George. The goal of the workshop is to increase opportunities for aspiring, emerging artists to train and work alongside creative professionals. A limited number of travel subsidies are available to those who qualify.

The two-day workshop, happening prior to the opening of the Coldsnap Festival, is intended to serve emerging artists, agents and managers interested in enhancing their knowledge about touring, ages 18 to 34 years old and are in the early stage of launching a professional career.

It will cover  topics such as tour planning and prep, attending industry events & Contact Events, applying to showcase/festivals, negotiating with presenters, hiring an agent, preparing promotional materials, marketing, social media, and more. Participants are invited to participate in Pitch or Perform sessions and receive feedback from trainers. Often featured at industry events, pitch or performs offer an opportunity to promote shows and performances to presenters.

Become a BCTC member and register FREE. Seating is limited. If you represent an organization/group/band, you pay one membership fee of $57.50. Register by January 27 http://bctouring.org/touring-training-initiative/workshops

Need another reason or two to attend our On the Road workshop on Feb 2 & 3? On Feb. 2, Creative BC will be hosting an info session right after our workshop (in the same room) to talk about their music funding programs AND on Feb. 3, the Coldsnap Music Festival is kicking off their festival by hosting a free outdoor concert featuring DJ Shub and from Whitehorse, Speed Control.

The BC Touring Council exists to support performing arts touring and presenting throughout the province. We are a non-profit, charitable organization that has members in every part of the province.
